Apstrakt

Imajući u vidu koliko brzo tehnologija napreduje, kao i koliko brzo raste opseg potreba korisnika kada je u pitanju funkcionalnost i pristupačnost softvera, moguće je uvideti da open source paketi mogu predstavljati vrlo atraktivnu opciju korisnicima koji ne žele da plate veliku količinu novca kako bi imali pristup različitim funkcijama koje su im neophodne u svakodnevnom korišćenju računara. U tom smislu, jedan od najvećih problema koji se javlja jeste sama kompatibilnost krajnjih proizvoda tih open source paketa u odnosi na one koji se moraju platiti. Takva vrsta problema često može da obeshrabri korisnike koji u takvim okolnostima često pribegavaju pirateriji kao načinu da ga prevaziđu. Ipak, postavlja se pitanje da li uvek mora biti tako, te da li je moguće ostvariti punu ili gotovo punu kompatibilnost sa naširoko korišćenim softverima na koje se može naići.
